Intro to Brioche Knitting with Kathy Johnson

If you've been looking to add a bit of brioche to your knitting tool box, this 3 week course will give you the solid skills to take on this intimidating, yet intuitive technique.

Brioche knitting creates a beautiful, revearsable and extra cushy fabric that is often employed by designers to create graphic interest to garments and accessories.

Kathy will spend two sessions teaching brioche basics, and then guide students to cast on the 3rd session for this squishy Brioche Cushy Cowl (free pattern from Marshwiggle), or the brioche project of your choice.

Week 1: Basic stitches, one color brioche

Week 2:  The two color brioche sequence, fixing mistakes

Week 3: Casting on your brioche project

Class supplies (Brioche Cushy Cowl):

-2 contrasting color  skeins of worsted or dk weight wool, non super-wash, or worsted Blue sky organic cotton.

-Size US 5 or US 6, 24" or 32" circular needles

Class Fees & Supplies: 

Registration fees secure your spot in the class. Class fees must be paid at least 3 days prior to the first session.  

Class supplies are not included in registration fee, and must be purchased through the shop. Students will receive a 10% discount for class supplies.

Cancellation Policy:

Store credit is offered for cancellations up to 7 days before the first session. No refunds or credits are given for cancellations less than 7 days prior to the first class, or for missed sessions. Makeup sessions are offered at the discretion of the instructor.

If class enrollment does not meet the instructor's minimum, the class may be cancelled and students will receive a full refund for the class fee.  Students will be notified of class cancelations.
